We collect the following categories of personal data:

Data you give us directly:

•Full name and date of birth

•Email address

•Gender and sexual interest preferences

•Profile photos (up to 6 images)

•Bio / about me text

•Height

•What you are looking for (e.g. relationship, marriage)

•Messages sent to other users

Data we collect automatically:

•Device type, operating system, and app version

•IP address and approximate location (country/region level)

•App usage patterns and interaction data

•Crash logs and error reports

Data from third parties:

•If you sign in with Google: your name, email, and Google profile picture

•If you sign in with Apple: your name and email (subject to Apple's privacy controls)

3. Special Category Data

⚠️ Dating apps by nature process special category data under UK GDPR — specifically data that may reveal your sexual orientation or relationship preferences. We process this data only with your explicit consent, which you give by creating a profile and selecting your preferences.

You may withdraw this consent at any time by deleting your account. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing prior to withdrawal.

Service providers (data processors):

•MongoDB Atlas — secure cloud database storage

•Cloudinary — photo storage and delivery

•Supabase — authentication services

•Render — backend server hosting

•Google / Apple — OAuth sign-in services (where applicable)

Other users:

Your profile information (name, photos, bio, age, star sign) is visible to other DateNaija users. Your messages are visible to the person you are messaging. We do not share your email address or sign-in method with other users.

Legal disclosures:

We may disclose your data to law enforcement or regulatory authorities where required by law or to protect the safety of our users.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account:

•Your profile and photos are deleted within 30 days

•Your messages may be retained for up to 90 days for safety and abuse prevention purposes before permanent deletion

•Some data may be retained longer where required by law (e.g. financial records for 7 years)

Anonymised, aggregated data (e.g. usage statistics with no personal identifiers) may be retained indefinitely for product improvement.

8. Your Rights Under UK GDPR

•Right to rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data

•Right to erasure — request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten")

•No plain-text password storage

However, no system is completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential. Please notify us immediately at kenneth@connectbingo.com if you suspect any unauthorised access to your account.

10. International Data Transfers

Some of our service providers (including Cloudinary and MongoDB Atlas) may store or process data outside the UK. Where this occurs, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the ICO, to protect your data to the same standard required under UK GDPR.

11. Children's Privacy

DateNaija is strictly for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected data from a minor, we will delete it immediately. If you believe a minor has created an account, please report it to us at

DateNaija may contain links or integrations with third-party services (such as Google Sign-In). These services have their own privacy policies and we are not responsible for their practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you use.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you via the app or email. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version. Your continued use of DateNaija after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
